Pilot Mountain Easter Egg Hunt 2026

The 2026 event season is kicking off with a FREE community Easter egg hunt at the Armfield Civic Center's SOCCER field on Saturday, April 4th, from 1-4pm! 

We recommend arriving for check-in 30 minutes prior to your age group's allotted time. Each hunt will last 30 minutes and afterward we will draw for prizes using the tickets given out before each age division begins. Meanwhile, the eggs will be hidden for the next group. 
The Easter Bunny will be on hand for photo opportunities, as well as a few vendors and food options!

1-1:30pm ages 4 and under

2-2:30pm ages 5-8

3-3:30pm ages 9-12

Prizes will be drawn for each age division.

The 54th Annual Blue Grass & Old-Time Fiddlers Convention celebrates Surry County's place as the center of the old-time music genre. Established in 1972, the Blue Grass & Old-Time Fiddlers Convention is centered on favorite old-time tunes, and bluegrass ballads as well as dance.

This year, the beloved event will be held June 5th - 6th. With two full days of competition, this family-friendly event includes jam sessions, dancing, singing, education, and family entertainment. Winners of the solo and band competitions will be awarded cash prizes.

Mayberry Days Festival

Time stands still from September 21st - 27th as Downtown Mount Airy transforms into the delightful world of treasured Mayberry!

Mayberry Days is a festival that celebrates the legacy of The Andy Griffith Show and the simpler times of life. The festival days are filled with the ballads from local bands, exciting games of checkers, and pork chop sandwiches.

Beginning in 1990 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of The Andy Griffith Show, Mayberry Days has evolved over the years to keep Mayberry's legacy alive. With memories of Sheriff Andy Taylor and his friends, the annual festival has ushered many to Downtown Mount Airy over the years, including cast members and their families. Fans from every state and over five foreign countries have also enjoyed the festivities, as many refer to Mayberry Days as a fun-filled family reunion.

Mayberry Days® is a festival for the whole family with activities and events for the fans who long for the days when life was simple and the sheriff didn't carry a gun. Enjoy a bottle of pop while playing checkers, relax to music from many local bands playing the same songs that Andy grew up with and performed on The Andy Griffith Show.

From the first concert to "The Emmett" golf tournament on Thursday to eating a porkchop sandwich to singing along on the last hymn at the Mayberry Days Chapel on Sunday morning, there is something for everyone in the family. The Surry Arts Council welcome fans of all ages and from all around the world to Mayberry Days. Make plans now to attend this family-friendly festival and enjoy days filled with the Mayberry spirit.

Mayberry Days events take place at or around the Andy Griffith Playhouse, Historic Earle Theatre, Arts Center, Andy Griffith Museum Theatre, and Blackmon Amphitheatre unless otherwise noted in the schedule. The Surry Arts Council venues are within walking distance of each other, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes and clothes. There is limited free parking in the numerous municipal lots downtown for the early birds.

Only service animals are permitted at Surry Arts Council venues, including the Blackmon Amphitheatre. Pets are not permitted. Please read for more information.

Be sure to come visit Mount Airy during other times of the year as well. The Andy Griffith Museum and Siamese Twins Museum are open 7 days a week and the Surry Arts Council has events going on throughout the year, so there are plenty of reasons to return.

Held each September, this epic endurance challenge connects Pilot Mountain State Park to Hanging Rock State Park, offering a truly unforgettable ultra-marathon experience. With race options including the 50 Mile Ultra, the 50K Ultra, and the 50 Mile Relay, athletes of all levels can take on the rugged beauty of the Sauratown Mountains.
